RACCOMANDAZIONI

Edifici:

  • approvvigionarsi di energia elettrica certificata prodotta con fonti rinnovabili, in quanto ciò consente di risparmiare circa mezzo chilogrammo di anidride carbonica (CO2 = gas climalterante) per ogni chilowattora (kWh) consumato;
  • rispettare rigorosamente le disposizioni di legge relative ai controlli periodici e di manutenzione degli impianti termici;
  • assicurare un ricambio d’aria, di tutti gli edifici abitati, almeno 2-3 volte al giorno, durante le ore più calde;
  • utilizzare aspiratori per le pulizie domestiche con filtri ad alta efficienza filtrante (filtri HEPA);
  • sostituire / pulire i filtri dei sistemi di riscaldamento ad aria (es. condizionatori, mobiletti fan coil, ecc.), almeno due volte nel periodo di funzionamento dell’impianto;
  • nelle stufe: bruciare legna secca stagionata (con tenore di umidità uguale o inferiore a 40%). Il legno secco si accende e brucia facilmente mentre all’aumentare del tenore di umidità aumenta la difficoltà di accensione; non utilizzare il legno impregnato, verniciato o trattato, anche se solo frammisto con altra legna da ardere: la combustione di questo legno può liberare sostanze tossiche; non bruciare carta plastificata, sostanze artificiali di qualsiasi tipo, confezioni o contenitori (tetrapak). Chi brucia questi materiali produce gas nocivi e polveri e, allo stesso tempo, danneggia l’impianto; la fiamma blu o rosso chiaro indica una buona combustione (fiamme rosse o rosso scuro significano cattiva combustione) ed il fumo deve essere quasi invisibile (la fuoriuscita di fumo denso dal camino di colore dal giallo al grigio scuro, determina maggiore inquinamento); la cenere deve essere grigio chiaro o bianca (cenere scura e pesante e testa del camino sporca di nero indicano una cattiva combustione); devono prodursi poca fuliggine nei camini e basso consumo di combustibile (la presenza di molta fuliggine indica che c’è anche un elevato consumo di combustibile); lasciare sempre il controllo dell’aria completamente aperto finché nella camera di combustione c’è fiamma viva o se la camera stessa è ancora ben riscaldata. Se il fuoco langue, spaccare il legno in pezzi più piccoli e usare più di un pezzo per ciascun carico;
  • acquistare la legna durante il periodo estivo (giugno-luglio) poiché, essendo il taglio dei boschi eseguito prevalentemente in autunno, si può essere sicuri che questa sia stagionata da circa un anno;
  • accatastare la legna acquistata in un luogo protetto in modo tale che possa continuare il processo di stagionatura;
  • la qualità del pellet e del cippato di legno (legno ridotto in scaglie) per gli impianti ed i singoli apparecchi termici alimentati con tali tipologie di combustibili deve essere comprovata tramite certificazione della conformità alle classi A1 e A2 (residui legnosi non trattati chimicamente), delle rispettive norme UNI EN 14961-2 e UNI EN 14961-4;
  • l’utilizzo di “apparecchi soffiatori” deve essere limitato alle operazioni di pulizia delle superfici erbose allo scopo di ridurre il fenomeno di risollevamento delle polveri;

Traffico:

  • evitare l’uso dell’auto per gli spostamenti brevi in quanto il consumo di carburante (e quindi l’inquinamento) nei primi chilometri è elevatissimo (anche 10 volte quello normalizzato) e si regolarizza, generalmente, dopo circa 4 chilometri;
  • non riscaldare i motori da fermo, partire subito con guida non aggressiva, evitando le brusche accelerazioni e frenate;

Formazione/informazione:

  • prendere coscienza dei propri consumi di energia (elettrica e termica) e quindi elaborare delle soluzioni per ridurli; formare e informare i propri familiari, personale e collaboratori circa i comportamenti più opportuni da tenere per consumare meno possibile (N.B.: con tale azione si possono ottenere risparmi anche del 30%);
  • è opportuno che gli individui o i gruppi sensibili come gli anziani, i bambini o i soggetti in precarie condizioni di salute limitino la loro attività all’aperto ed evitino di sostare a lungo in aree con intenso traffico; evitare di tenere i bambini ad un’altezza di 30-50 centimetri dal suolo (livello a cui si propaga la maggior parte delle emissioni dei veicoli a motore), utilizzando invece per il loro trasporto carrozzine, passeggini e zaini di altezza adeguata; evitare inoltre esposizioni all’aria aperta nelle giornate ad alto inquinamento;
  • in auto azionare gli impianti di ricircolo dell’aria durante il transito in particolari condizioni quali, ad esempio, nelle code e in ambito urbano soggetto ad intenso traffico;
  • ricordare che la sussistenza di malattie respiratorie e cardiache (anche lievi come l’influenza e la bronchite) amplifica gli effetti sulla salute di tutti gli inquinanti; in queste situazioni le raccomandazioni sopra elencate dovranno essere osservate con maggiore attenzione.
